A video of Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar appearing to show him accusing the “Cockroach Janta Party” of leading anti-India movements and seeking the extradition of its founder, Abhijeet Dipke, for allegedly campaigning on behalf of the Iranian Ayatollah regime is a deepfake.
The viral video also appears to show Jaishankar expressing surprise while welcoming the US Secretary of State, stating that he never expected the United States to host the “Cockroach Janta Party” while India remained loyal to the US and distanced itself from Iran.
BOOM found the video to be a deepfake. In the original press conference, Jaishankar did not make any statements regarding the “Cockroach Janta Party”.
The Claim
The video is being shared on X with the caption, "Deeply afraid of the new political party Cockroach Janata Party founded by Bharatiya Janata Party Generation Z, Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar is appealing to the US Secretary of State that the handlers of Cockroach Janata Party are Pakistanis and See". Pro-Pakistan handle @InsiderWB too shared the video with a similar false claim.
What We Found: Viral Video Is A Deepfake
1.The Original Press Conference by Jaishankar: We broke the viral video into keyframes and found several reports indicating that the footage was taken from S. Jaishankar’s joint press conference with Marco Rubio in New Delhi on May 24, 2026. We then reviewed the original livestream present on the official YouTube channel of the Ministry of External Affairs and found that Jaishankar’s attire matched the viral footage.
However, the alleged statement mentioning the “Cockroach Janta Party” does not appear anywhere in the original recording. The official transcript of the Joint Press Conference held by the Indian External Affairs Minister and the US Secretary of State on May 24, 2026, can be viewed here.
2. AI Detector Tool Flags Manipulation: For further verification, we tested the audio in the video using the AI voice detection tool Hiya. The tool flagged AI manipulation in the audio, confirming that the viral video of the Indian EAM is a deepfake.
