No, Bihar Police Did Not Record This Selfie After Coming to Arrest Khan Sir

A video showing a police officer recording a selfie with educator and YouTuber Faizal Khan in the presence of other uniformed police personnel is being shared online with the false claim that it shows officers who had come to arrest Khan Sir becoming his admirers.

The video is being shared in connection with the recent controversy, as an FIR was registered against Khan in a case related to a firing incident happened on June 2, 2026, outside his coaching institute.

BOOM was able to confirm that the video is old and from 2025. Sushant Yadav, the police officer seen recording the selfie and a student of Khan, also confirmed that the video was filmed at Khan's coaching institute during a felicitation ceremony.

On June 9, 2026, a court in Patna granted Khan interim protection from arrest while the matter remains under further consideration.

      The Claim

UPSC educator and content creator Amit Kilhor shared the video with the claim that the police officers who arrived to arrest Khan were actually his students and recorded the video as admirers.

      Kilhor later deleted his post.

What We Found: Video Is Old and Unrelated

      1. Video Was Posted Online in December 2025: A reverse image search combined with relevant keyword searches led us to the original video on police officer Sushant Yadav's Instagram profile, where it was uploaded on December 25, 2025. In the caption, written in Hindi, Yadav stated that the video showed him meeting Khan after becoming a Sub-Inspector in the police force.

We also found another post featuring Yadav with Khan, showing a similar wall background and the signboard of Khan's coaching institute, "Khan Global Studies", on his Instagram profile.

      2. Clarification From Yadav: To further verify the claim, BOOM reached out to Yadav, who is currently posted in Begusarai. Yadav confirmed that the claim being shared with the video is false.

Speaking to BOOM, Yadav said, “I recorded this video in December 2025 during a felicitation ceremony held at his coaching institute in Patna. We were meeting him for the first time as Sub-Inspectors, having been his students.”
