What We Found: Video Was Altered Using AI
1. The Original Video: A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to the original video, uploaded by content creator Sonam Yadav on both Instagram and Threads on June 6, 2026. The original footage shows Yadav wearing a completely different dress from the one seen in the viral video.
We also found other videos on Yadav’s social media handles showing her taking a dip in the river at the same location while wearing the same outfit. These visuals can be seen here, here and here.
2. The Similarities and Differences: BOOM compared both videos frame by frame and found that while the woman's actions match, a signboard visible behind her in the original footage is missing from the viral clip. Such inconsistencies are commonly seen in videos altered using artificial intelligence. The frame-by-frame comparison can be seen below.
3. AI Detector Tool Flag Manipulation: We also tested the viral video using Hive AI’s detection tool, which confirmed that the video contains AI-generated elements.
