Video From West Bengal Shared As Delhi Police Transporting Uniforms Amid CEC Protests

A video showing stacks of police uniforms being transported in a van has surfaced with claims that it shows footage of Delhi Police bringing uniforms for RSS members and BJP backed 'goons' during the protests.

BOOM found that the video is from West Bengal and not related to the demonstrations against the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar.

The video is viral amid reports of members allegedly belonging to the Hindu Raksha Dal assaulting protesters on October 11. Men in saffron scarves and lathis were spotted in Connaught Place, threatening protesters while expressing their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Claim:
The 20-second video shows a van full of police uniforms. Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut shared the video with the false claim that Delhi Police is bringing these uniforms for 'hired goons'.

What we found:
1) Video of police uniforms from West Bengal: BOOM was able to ascertain that the video is from West Bengal as a man can be heard speaking in Bengali in the background. A reverse image search on the keyframes led us to a Facebook post with the same video posted on October 9, 2026 by the handle @/rakeshofficial1995.

The caption states that the uniforms were meant for newly appointed West Bengal Police constables.

2) Clarification from Rakesh Sarkar: Rakesh also posted a clarifying statement in the comments section of the viral video stating that the uniforms were for the West Bengal Police recruitment.

We looked through the account and found another video from October 1, 2026 where people are standing in a queue. The caption says the video shows selected candidates from the Bangaon Police Department standing for measurement of uniforms.
