Investigation Finds No Communal Angle in the Incident
When we searched for news articles about the incident, we found reports by Dainik Bhaskar and Navbharat Times, which stated that the accused in the case from the Tarayasujan area of Kushinagar district is Surendra Singh, who has been arrested by the police.
The incident took place on April 10, 2026.
Initial Suspicion on Naeemuddin
In the FIR filed at the police station, the girl’s father initially expressed suspicion against Naeemuddin Ansari, the school headmaster. Some reports also claimed that he was detained under pressure. However, during questioning, it was found that the headmaster was not involved and that Surendra Singh was the actual accused. The police later cleared Naeemuddin of any wrongdoing.
A case has been registered against Surendra Singh under serious charges, including the POCSO Act, and he has been arrested. During interrogation, he also confessed to the crime.
Kushinagar Police Rubbishes Viral Claims
Kushinagar Police, in a post on their official X handle, said that the actual accused in the rape of the five-year-old girl in the Tarayasujan area has been arrested, identifying him as Surendra Singh, son of the late Ramratan Singh.
BOOM also reached out to the Tarayasujan police station for further confirmation. Station House Officer Ram Sahay Chauhan refuted the viral claims, stating that there is no communal angle to the incident and that both the accused and the victim belong to the same community.
Chauhan said, “The incident occurred on April 10. Around 11 am, during lunch, the girl did not go home but went to a nearby mango garden, where the accused Surendra Singh was present. Since he was already known to the girl, she went to him when he called her.”
The officer further added, “As the family was unaware that the girl had gone to the garden instead of returning home from school, they initially suspected the headmaster and named Naeemuddin. He was brought to the police station for questioning, but further investigation confirmed that the actual accused is Surendra Singh.”
