An unrelated video showing a police officer smashing a vehicle’s window in Datia, Madhya Pradesh is being shared on social media with the false claim that it was recorded during the Cockroach Janta Party protest in Delhi on July 20, 2026.
The CJP protest at Jantar Mantar turned violent on Monday after Delhi Police and the Rapid Action Force (RAF) used tear gas and lathis on protesters attempting to march towards Parliament.

What We Found:
1) Video From Datia, Madhya Pradesh
We broke the video into key-frames and ran a reverse image search using Google Lens which showed that the footage was recorded in Datia, Madhya Pradesh, during a protest by BJP workers over the Datia Assembly by-election.
This was reported by several media outlets including ABP News and Navbharat on July 13, 2026.
The news reports highlight a CCTV footage showing police personnel vandalising cars, after the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police had accused BJP workers of doing the same during the protest.
