Unrelated Police Action Videos Falsely Linked To Bihar's Jamui Molestation Case
BOOM found that the videos show separate police actions in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh that pre-date the Jamui case.
Two videos are being shared on social media with the false claim that they show Bihar Police parading accused persons in connection with the alleged molestation and public harassment of a minor girl in Bihar’s Jamui district.
BOOM found that both videos are old and unrelated to the Jamui case. One shows arrested suspects being paraded in Madhya Pradesh's Alirajpur, while the other shows an encounter involving accused in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar.
On September 19, two Class 10 students were intercepted by a group of men in Jamui. The minor girl was sexually assaulted, while her male friend was beaten. Police later arrested seven people, including the main accused, Nandan Yadav. Yadav and another accused sustained leg injuries during a subsequent police encounter.

What We Found
BOOM found that neither of the viral videos are linked to the Jamui molestation case in Bihar.
1) First video shows police action in Madhya Pradesh
We broke the first video into keyframes and ran a reverse image search using Google Lens. The search led us to a YouTube video posted on September 14, 2026, and reports by Times of India and Dainik Bhaskar on the incident from July 2026.
The reports stated that police in Madhya Pradesh's Alirajpur district paraded arrested suspects through a local market and made them perform sit-ups. The accused had been arrested in connection with the gang rape and robbery of a 40-year-old tribal widow. The video predates the Jamui case, which was reported on September 19.
2) Second video is from an encounter in Uttar Pradesh
The results of a reverse image search led us to an Aaj Tak report published on September 6, 2026, with the same visual from the viral video.
The report stated that police in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar had arrested two in a minor girl's rape case after an encounter with the police. The police had claimed that both accused were shot in the leg in retaliatory firing.
