Old Videos From July 20 CJP Protest Falsely Shared As October 10 Protest
BOOM found that the visuals are old and unrelated to the recent demonstrations demanding the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar.

Three old, unrelated videos are being falsely circulated on social media as footage from the October 10 protest at Jantar Mantar by the Cockroach Janta Party and allied opposition groups demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's resignation.
BOOM found that all three videos are old and unrelated to the recent demonstrations.
Delhi was on high alert ahead of the October 10 protests, with heavy security and police presence, 57 metro stations closed, and several trains halted. Claim 1: Video shows protesters arriving with luggage at Jantar Mantar
The nine-second video showing a group of young people walking with their luggage is being shared on social media, with captions falsely claiming that protesters were planning to stay at Jantar Mantar for several days.

What we found:
Old Video from September 28, 2026: A reverse image search traced the video to an X post dated September 28, 2026 from the handle @Guptaofficial07, accompanied by a caption stating that students were leaving Lovely Professional University (LPU) after classes were suspended over unrest on campus following alleged rumours of rape.
Claim 2: Video shows Delhi Metro being shut on October 10
The five-second video, purportedly showing a commotion at Rajiv Chowk Metro station, is being falsely shared on social media as a recent incident.

What we found:
Old video from July 20, 2026: A reverse image search traced the video to an Instagram post dated July 20 from the handle @vlog_by_mayank01, thus predating the October 10 protests by several months.
Claim 3: Video shows Delhi Police placing damaged cars before October 10 protest
The 32-second video, in which a person can be heard saying that Delhi Police placed damaged cars before a protest, is being shared on social media claiming to be recent.

Old video from July 20 CJP protest: The handle @sonali_nirbhavane_358 is visible in the video. We looked through the posts from this handle and found the original post dated July 21, 2026, following the sit-in protest and parliament march by CJP over NEET paper leak.
