What We Found:
BOOM ran the images by our partners at the Deepfakes Analysis Unit, who provided us evidence that established the image as entirely AI-generated.
The images were analysed by multiple AI detection tools, including Hive, AI or Not, Truth Scan which gave showed that the images are AI-generated or have been digitally altered.
Several AI related visual inconsistencies can also be spotted in the photos. The faces of people in the background appear blurred, in one image, Vijay’s hair on the poster appears to turn white after milk is poured on it, and in another, people are seen standing in odd positions and putting their hands out.
Additionally, we did not find any recent credible news reports supporting the claim that two lakh litres of milk were poured on Vijay’s posters following TVK’s victory.
