A purported cover of Frontline predicting a “Vijay wave” in Tamil Nadu ahead of voting in the state is fake. Actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay, founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), is being projected in the viral image as a key contender in the ongoing assembly election.
Alongside the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the main opposition All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), TVK is a new entrant in the fray this election. Voting is scheduled for April 23, with counting set for May 4.

What We Found:
1) No Such Cover By Frontline
We checked recent magazine covers published by Frontline and found no issue featuring Vijay or any story predicting a “Vijay wave” as seen in the viral image.

Additionally, Frontline also posted on X clarifying that it had not published any such cover, calling the viral image fake.
