BJP Shares Old, Unrelated Videos As NEET 2026 Success Stories

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), through its official X handle, recently shared three videos of student interactions, claiming they show happy students celebrating their success in the recently concluded NEET 2026, the national entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical and allied healthcare courses.

BOOM found that the videos are old and do not show students reacting to the final NEET 2026 results.

The posts were shared during nationwide youth protests over the alleged NEET paper leak. The movement was spearheaded by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), a satirical outfit formed after Chief Justice of India Surya Kant's controversial remark allegedly comparing unemployed Indian youth to cockroaches.

Claim 1: Videos show hardworking and talented students who cracked NEET 2026

The post features two separate videos showing two different women becoming emotional while speaking beside young men seated next to them.

We extracted keyframes from the first video and performed a reverse image search. The search led us to a 2024 YouTube video titled "Ma Ke Liye Labour Bana Doctor", which contains the same visuals and shows Alakh Pandey, co-founder and CEO of edtech company Physics Wallah, speaking to the woman while addressing the young man as Sarfaraz.

We then ran a keyword search and found several 2024 news reports about Sarfaraz, a 21-year-old from West Bengal who scored 677 out of 720 in the NEET examination while working as a manual labourer to overcome financial hardships. The interaction between Pandey and Sarfaraz's mother was also featured in a video shared by Physicswallah's verified Instagram page in 2024.

We traced the second video in the post to a report published by Tamil news outlet Kalaignar Seithigal on August 27, 2024, which featured a screengrab from the viral video. According to the report, the video showed Nagaraj, a differently abled student, securing admission to Madurai Government Medical College under the 3 per cent reservation quota for persons with disabilities after scoring 136 marks in the NEET examination. The video report was published on News18 Tamil Nadu's official YouTube channel on August 29, 2024.

Claim 2: Video captures the NEET UG 2026 success story of a paan vendor's son

We found the same video on the Instagram page of PW Vidyapeeth Uttar Pradesh, where it was posted on May 7, 2026, following the original NEET examination held on May 3. Both the caption and the speaker in the video said the student was expected to score 681 out of 720.

It is important to note that the May 3 examination was later cancelled after allegations of a question paper leak. The re-examination was held on June 21, 2026, and its results were declared on July 16, 2026.
