AI Image Of Narendra Modi, Amit Shah Viral As Old Photo
BOOM found that the image is AI-generated, with multiple detection tools flagging it as artificially created.
An AI-generated image purportedly showing a younger-looking Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Union Home Minister Amit Shah is being falsely shared on Facebook and Instagram as an old photograph of the two BJP leaders.
BOOM found that the image is not an authentic photograph. Multiple AI-detection tools flagged it as artificially generated.
The Claim
The photo is being shared on Facebook and Instagram with the claim that it is an old photograph of PM Modi and Shah.

What We Found:
1) AI-detection tools flag the image as AI-generated:
BOOM analysed the image using multiple AI-detection tools, including OpenAI's image detection tool, which detected a SynthID watermark embedded in the image, confirming it was generated using OpenAI's tools. AI or Not also flagged the image as a likely deepfake.
2) Facebook post with AI watermark
Additionally, we ran a reverse image search which results showed a Facebook post from August 11 with the same image a watermark at the top left stating that it is AI-generated.
