BOOM found that both photographs were manipulated using Google AI. The original visuals do not show the actress with a shaved head.
The pictures are being shared in connection with the actress's upcoming film Toxic, with claims that the actress was spotted with a shaved head while visiting a temple for the film's success.
The Claim
The photographs were shared by several verified X accounts and Instagram pages, claiming to be genuine photographs of the actress.

News18 also shared the photographs through its official YouTube handles, presenting them as real. The outlet later deleted the posts after being called out on social media.
What We Found: Viral Photographs Are AI-Manipulated
1. Google AI watermarks detected: BOOM examined the photographs and spotted signs consistent with Google AI generation. Running the images through Google's SynthID tool confirmed the finding, detecting embedded markers that verified the photos were generated using Google AI.
2. Original visuals of the actress: When we tried to find the original visuals which were used for manipulation, we traced them to visuals from April this year, when the actress visited Tirumala Sri Vari Temple on April 9, 2026, with her husband, Vignesh Shivan. A comparison of the original visuals and the manipulated viral photographs can be seen below.
