Ankit Lal, social media and information technology strategist for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) tweeted on Saturday a video of Amit Shah's speech in Delhi with a misleading claim that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president asked people to stay back for five minutes to listen to him

Lal tweeted the video saying, "Ever heard @AmitShah requesting people... Here he is asking people in Rohini rally of @BJP4India to stay back for 5 minutes to listen to him. People of Delhi have made up their mind. "

The twelve second clip purports to show Shah saying, "listen at least for five minutes. I don't want to speak for long."

(Translated from Hindi - "Arreh yaar sun lo paanch minute. Mujhe lambi baat nahi karni hai.")

      Ever heard @AmitShah requesting people...

Here he is asking people in Rohini rally of @BJP4India to stay back for 5 minutes to listen to him.

People of Delhi have made up their mind.

The same clip was also tweeted by another AAP member Amit Mishra with the hashtag 'BJPScaredOfKejriwal.'

BOOM checked the video that was shared LIVE on BJP Delhi's verified Facebook page from Shah's speech at the Japanese Park in Rohini, Delhi on May 4, 2019.

The video also shows that the crowd was sizeable despite Amit Shah reaching late.

Barely minutes into his speech the crowd starts chanting "Modi, Modi" and briefly pauses as Shah resumes speaking.

Shah apologises for arriving late at the venue and says he had returned from Rahul Gandhi's constituency in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. He also proclaims that the 'lotus will bloom' in Amethi a reference to BJP winning the constituency, which enthuses the crowd.

At 2:03 second into the video a faint chant of "Modi, Modi" can be heard in the background. It is in this context that Shah says 'at least listen for five minutes. I don't want to speak for long."

Watch the full video below from 1:12 seconds onward.
