The official trust of the Tirupati Balaji temple has told BOOM it has not decided yet about donating money for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, quashing viral rumours online which claimed the temple will donate hundred crore rupees for the same.

The help desk of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam confirmed to BOOM in an email that the claim circulating online is false.

"In reply to your email, above message is truly false. As of now, TTD doesn't take any official decision for donating amount to Ram Mandir in Ayodhya."

A claim about Andhra Pradesh's Tirupathi Balaji temple planning to donate 100 crore rupees for the construction of a Ram Mandir in Ayodhya started circulating online following the Supreme Court's verdict on the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid on November 9, 2019.

The misinformation was viral on Facebook. The Tirupati Balaji temple is one of India's wealthiest shrines.

The Supreme Court ordered the government to set up a trust to build a temple while allocating a separate 5-acre parcel of land to the Sunni Waqf Board for the construction of a mosque.

However, the government is yet to set up the trust that will build the temple. It is not clear who will fund its construction.

ANI cited a senior Vishva Hindu Parishard (VHP) leader saying the Ram temple in Ayodhya would be built by donations from devotees and that trustees would set up a fund on the lines of Gujarat Somnath Trust. Read the full story here. BOOM has not independently verified the same.

Times of India also reported that the temple would be crowd funded citing a VHP leader.

We found two mainstream news articles detailing donation pledges. BOOM has not independently verified the same.

Hanuman Mandir in Patna has pledged 10 crores toward the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya, the New Indian Express reported. Indigenous Assamese Muslims have decided to donate 5 lakh rupees, Times of India reported.
