After a dismal showing at the 2016 Rio Olympics, a strong Indian contingent is hoping to have their best ever outing at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Bajrang Punia won India's sixth medal in Tokyo after winning bronze in the men's 65kg freestyle wrestling event. India began their final day at the Tokyo Olympics with a chance of adding at least three medals to its tally. Aditi Ashok, the biggest surprise of the Games from an Indian perspective, missed out on a medal in the women's golf event by a single shot to finish fourth. Neeraj Chopra will be the last Indian athlete in action when he takes part in the men's javelin throw final.

Wrestler Bajrang Punia has won India's sixth medal at the Tokyo Olympics after winning bronze in the men's 65 kg freestyle event. Punia becomes the sixth Indian wrestler to win an Olympic medal after KD Jadhav, Sushil Kumar, Sakshi Malik, Yogeshwar Dutt and Ravi Dahiya. Punia beat Kazakhstan's Daulet Niyazbekov 8-0.

Heartbreak for Aditi Ashok and India as she finishes fourth in the women's golf event. The 22-year-old was in contention to win a medal after starting the final round in second place. Ashok was consistent on all four days but Japan's Inami Mone and New Zealand's Lydia Ko had an exceptional fourth round which allowed them to leapfrog Ashok. The Indian needed a birdie in the final hole to finish tied second with Mone and Ko but missed it to finish fourth. Mone pipped Ko to silver after winning the silver medal play off round. USA's Nelly Korda won gold.

India's wait for an Olympic gold in wrestling continues after Bajrang Punia lost in the semi-finals of the men's 65kg freestyle event. Up against three-time world champion in 61kg Haji Aliyev, Bajrang didn't look comfortable and ended up losing 5-12. Azerbaijan's Aliyev will face Japan's Takuto Otoguro. Bajrang will now await the winner of the repechage rounds for the bronze medal bout.

After three rounds of golfing, Aditi Ashok is second in the women's individual event with a total score of 201. Ashok is currently 12 under par and three strokes behind the USA's Nelly Korda. The fourth and final round will be held tomorrow at 6.30am local time (3.00am IST).

Bajrang Punia is through to the semi-finals of the men's 65kg freestyle wrestling event after winning his quarter-final bout by fall. Down 0-1 to Iran's Morteza Ghiasi in the second half, Bajrang won two points before pinning Ghiasi to win the bout. Bajrang will take on Azerbaijan's Haji Aliyev in the semi-final at 2.55pm today.

Wrestler Seema Bisla's Tokyo Olympics campaign ends at the first round after the 28-year-old lost 3-1 to Tunisia's Sarra Hamdi. Any hopes of Bisla fighting for a bronze medal through repechage also ended after Hamdi lost in the quarter-finals.

The Indian women's hockey team's historic Olympic campaign ended in heartbreak after they missed out on a bronze medal. Despite leading 3-2 through goals from Gurjit Kaur and Vandana Katariya, India failed to keep the British at bay as the Rio Olympics gold medalists took a 4-3 lead in the fourth quarter. Despite not winning a medal, it was a memorable Tokyo Olympics for the women.

Vinesh Phogat's chance of wining an Olympic medal has ended after Vanesa Kaladzinskaya, who beat Vinesh in the quarter-finals, lost her semi-final bout. With wrestling employing repechage format, Phogat could have fought for bronze had Kaladzinskaya made it to the final. Another heartbreak for Phogat following her Rio Olympics one.
