A digitally altered video is being shared on social media with the false claim that Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar criticised the Operation Sindoor documentary series and mocked the Indian Army's performance during the military operation.
BOOM found that the video is a deepfake, created by adding an AI-generated voice-over to old, unrelated footage of Kumar.
Declassified: Operation Sindoor, produced by Warner Bros. Discovery, premiered on Discovery Channel India on August 15, 2026. The two-part documentary series features several senior Indian national security and military officials, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.
The Claim:
In the 20-second viral clip, Kumar can purportedly be heard saying in Hindi that the Operation Sindoor documentary was “performing fantastically”, praising the “acting” of the generals and then mocking the Army’s performance during the actual military operation.

What We Found:
1) Al Detection Tool Results:
BOOM analysed the audio using the Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector and Deepfake-o-Meter. Both tools indicated a high likelihood that the sampled voice was artificially generated or manipulated.
2) Original Video
We found that the original video is from December 2025, in which Akshay Kumar was speaking about the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), a professional T10 tennis-ball cricket tournament, and his association with the league.
