What We Found
1) AI-related incontinences
On watching the video, BOOM identified several signs of AI manipulation. At around the seven-second mark, an Indian player appears abruptly in the frame and then vanishes in the next shot. We also noticed a player wearing jersey number 42 with the name appearing as “SU..KON” behind the back. However, a review of India’s squad and the playing XI for the match found no player by that name. Additionally, at the four seconds timestamp, a jersey of a Pakistani player seems to be worn backwards.
2) Match Highlights
BOOM also checked the match highlights on JioHotstar, where the match was streamed live, and found no such altercation between the two skippers. Additionally, had such an incident taken place, it would likely have been widely reported.
3) AI-Detection tool result
BOOM also checked the commentary audio heard in the viral video using Hiya, an AI audio detection tool. The analysis indicated that the audio was likely AI-generated, assigning it an authenticity score of 33 out of 100.
BOOM also consulted with our partners at the Deepfakes Analysis Unit (DAU), who ran the video through AI-detection tools including HIVE moderation, AI or Not and Was It AI, and results showed that it is AI-generated.
