Budget Live Blog 2023: FM Nirmala Sitharaman Set To Unveil Budget At 11AM

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present her fifth Union Budget before Lok Sabha at 11AM. 

Just before her budget, the Union Cabinet is expected to meet and approve of the Union Budget

She oversaw the first budget of the incumbent government in 2019, and the response of the government through the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Economic Survey has pegged India's growth at 6.5% next fiscal - in 2023 -24. In the current fiscal year, the economy will grow 7%. The document was yesterday in Parliament by Sitharaman

The Union Budget will be the last full budget before the next general election, expected to be held next year. The budget also follows the International Monetary Fund's World Economic Outlook, which pegs India's growth for this year and the next as the fastest among major economies.
