Houses Demolished By Thundering Mudslide In China’s Hunan Province

Video shot in China’s Hunan province shows a torrent of water and mud slamming into the wooden houses. Mountain torrents, along with landslides and mudslides, were triggered by heavy rains.

Hunan province has seen torrential rains as precipitation was recorded at an astonishing 199.1 mm recorded in Morong town, Hunan. Mudslides and heavy rains this summer have killed 237 people and caused at least $22bn of damage across China.

Weather Underground has calculated that the 2016 floods are China’s second most expensive weather-related natural disaster in history.
