Photographs of 1000 rupee coins which were recently launched by the Reserve Bank of India

Fact

A facebook post falsely claimed that the Reserve Bank of India has launched coins of 1000 rupee denominations. According to a report in The Hindu ‘, these coins were minted to commemorate 1,000 years of the Brihadeswara temple in Thanjavur. These are not meant to be used as legal tender.
