Fake 'Drunk' Arvind Kejriwal Video Revived

A 2017 video of the Delhi CM has been edited to show him appearing intoxicated. The video, which was viral earlier in January, has been revived

By - BOOM FACT Check Team | 13 May 2019 8:04 AM GMT

Claim

An old video of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal shown slurring on camera has been revived on social media. The caption with the post reads: Kejriwal sir giving sermons to the people of Delhi. (Hindi: केजरीवाल सर जी दिल्ली वालों को ज्ञान बाटते हुए). The video shows Kejriwal sitting in a car and talking to the camera, in a seemingly intoxicated tone, about elections in Punjab.

Fact

The original video, posted on Kejriwal's Facebook profile, can be seen here. The Delhi CM had uploaded the video on January 29, 2017, appealing to the people of Punjab to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party and not Congress. The video has been edited and slowed down thus giving Kejriwal's speech a slur. BOOM had debunked the same video in January.
