A video of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke receiving a ceremonial scarf is being falsely shared on social media, claiming that he arrived in Ranchi to support the ongoing student protests over alleged irregularities in Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) examinations.
BOOM found that the video is from July 19, 2026 and is unrelated to the ongoing Jharkhand student protests.
Students in Jharkhand marched to the State Assembly in Ranchi on August 10 as part of their protest demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into the alleged irregularities in the state government recruitment exams, including JPSC and JSSC exams.
The Claims:
The 15-second video compilation shows Dipke being welcomed with a ceremonial scarf and is being shared on social media with claims that he arrived in Ranchi to extend support to the protesting students.

What We Found:
1) Video from July 19, 2026
A reverse image search led BOOM to a longer version of the video posted by the Instagram handle @justmenthink.in on July 19. The original video predates the Jharkhand protests, and the posters seen in the background are from the CJP protest in Delhi, which demanded the resignation of former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
2) Other clips traced to separate events
BOOM found that the viral compilation also includes a clip posted by Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) leader Puja Mahto from the ongoing protests in Jharkhand, and drone footage from the CJP's Sansad Chalo march at Jantar Mantar.
3) No reports of Dipke traveling to Ranchi
According to news reports, the CJP has extended its support for the student protests in Jharkhand, but there is no mention of Dipke travelling to Ranchi to participate in the ongoing protests.
