A video from rural Maharashtra, is being shared on social media with a false claim that it shows visuals from Rahul Gandhi’s recent rally in Bihar.

However, BOOM found that the video is from June 2025 at Hindkesri Maidan in Pedgaon village in Satara district, where traditional bullock cart races (Bailgada Sharyat) are held annually.

On August 17, 2025, Gandhi launched a 16-day ‘Vote Adhikar Yatra’ in Sasaram, Bihar. The yatra will be a 1,300 km march through 20 districts, protesting alleged vote theft and the Election Commission’s voter roll revision before the state election. The campaign will end with a rally at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on September 1.

The Claim: Video show people gathered at Gandhi's rally in Bihar

The viral video is being shared with the caption on X claiming, "Breaking: A Tsunami of people have gathered in Bihar for the rally of INDIA alliance leader and LoP Rahul Gandhi. You couldn't find and inch of empty space at the venue of the rally."

What We Found:

1) Viral video from Pedgaon, Maharashtra: We broke the video into key-frames and ran a reverse image using Google Lens which search results showed that video dates back to June 2025, and the visuals matching Instagram posts from June 22 with the caption stating it was shot at Hindkesari Pedgaon Ground in Pedgaon, Satara distict, Maharashtra.

We also found the same visuals on a June 22 Instagram blog documenting the annual traditional bullock races (Bailgada Sharyat) that are held the ground.

2. Geo-Location: BOOM was able to geo-locate the location in the viral video using Google Maps. The distinct hill visible in the video matches with a June 2025 photo uploaded on Google Maps from Hindkesri Pedgaon Maidan. Click here to view.
