Top 4 Songs With Lame Lyrics That Rule Bollywood Chartbusters

Gone are the days when Gulzar’s “Aye Zindagi Gale Laga Le” reign supremacy in everyone’s hearts. Songs like “Tere bina zindagi se” is another master stroke by the poet of substance. And present 2012-2014, artists like Honey Singh, Mika Singh have given us some  maniacally dumb lyrics.
Here is the list of top 4 differently written lyrics that still rules Bollywood Charts:
1) Yo Yo Honey Singh/Sunny Sunny

Before coming to Bhai’s Dhinka Chinka song which ruled the Bollywood Chartbusters in 2011, another song that is apparently on everyone’s lips is Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Sunny Sunny.

So, this is how the lyrics go “Aaj Blue Hai Paani Paani Aur Dil Bhi Saani Saani”. Wondering if Honey Singh was bathing and testing colour of water when these dumb lyrics struck him. And there is repertoire in his dumb creations right from “Blue Eyes Hypnotise, Kardi Hai Mainu..I swear Choti dress mai Bomb Lagdi Mainu. Wondering if any lady would gladly accept being called “BOMB”.But, the strange part about these songs are that they are quite easy to remember and you unintentionally become a part of bandwagon. Even school going kids recognise Honey Singh more than APJ Abdul Kalam thanks to the dull lyrics he is gifted us with. Dhinka Chika Song also had the same pull to it. But, there Salman Khan magic also worked for the song.

Honey Singh’s albums especially ‘Baby Doll’ and ‘4 Botal Vodka’ have topped the music lists on most of musical websites from to Saavn.

2) Himesh Reshamiya/ Balma & Hookah Bar

Another trendsetter of these lovely disaster lyrics writer would be Himesh Reshamiya. He is the guy who gave us “Tera Pyaar Pyaar Hookah Bar”. So, love can also be in the form of Hookah. Thanks for enlightening us Mr Reshamiya. And not to forget his epic masterpiece “Fire Brigade Mangwa de Tu, O Balma. And you could actually hear neighbourhood kids screaming O Balma. Kids somehow have an affinity to these obnoxious lyrics and they are the ones to pick it first.

Balma still exists in playlist and trending well.

3) Toshi/ Saturday Saturday

The list of these trashy lyrical songs do not end here. So, the new song that has joined the list is “Saturday Saturday” from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. The lyrics basically say that this girl from Ludhiana only has party on her mind and she keeps waiting for Saturday to party.

Saturday Saturday lists in Top 20 of presently.

4) Yo Yo Honey Singh/ Lungi Dance

Then there is “Lungi Dance” song where in Honey Singh says that its a tribute to Rajnikanth fans. Sharing the lyrics below

Moochhon ko thoda round ghumake
Anna ke jaisa chashma lagake
Coconut me lassi milake
Aa jaao sare mood banake (x2)

All the Rajini fans – Thalaivar
Don’t miss the chance – Thalaivar
All the Rajini fans – Thalaivar
Don’t miss the chance – Do This!
Lungi dance, lungi dance…

Now, this song is a mass hit because everyone dances to its thumping beats and special mention of Rajnikanth. Sometimes, the repetitiveness of these lyrics creates a place for itself. You keep humming lungi dance, lungi dance without even realising it.

Anyway, so today’s list of nonsensical lyrics draws to a close. Wondering what else apart from Vodka, Bhel -puri will be mentioned in the lyrics? But one thing is quite apparent, you like or hate it but you can’t ignore these songs. Sometimes loudly played at the pandals to a birthday party and even clubs. And these songs trend the most.
