Support Our Project

Nearly two-thirds of children around the world are exposed to one or more forms of cyber risk. Help us expose the Internet predators by supporting us.

Over the last few months, since we launched DECODE to explore the interactions of the Internet with people, we uncovered stories exploring the lives of children.

We looked at how disinformation, online learning, and the Internet culture impact children's lives. We spent weeks researching, reporting and writing these stories- and found out that these were stories waiting to be told.

At BOOM, our mission has been to keep the Internet clean and we realise that the Internet can be a dangerous place for children.

Here are some difficult stats*:

45% of children across the world are affected by cyberbullying

39% experience reputational risks

29% are exposed to violent and sexual content

28% experience cyber threats

17% experience risky contact such as offline meetings with strangers or sexual contact

13% are at risk for a gaming disorder

7% are at risk for social media disorder

Media publications, too often, ignore the most vulnerable population of the Internet- the children. The lack of awareness makes them susceptible to online risks. We want to change that. We want to tell stories that will create awareness and impact children's online safety.

We need your help. Support us so we can tell those stories.
