PV Sindhu became India’s first woman to win an Olympics silver medal on August 19 after she lost to Spain’s Carolina Marin in the Women’s Singles Badminton.
Sindhu who is ranked tenth in the global rankings, lost to world champion Marin with 21-19, 12-21, 15-21 in a game that lasted for 83 minutes.
In their last five meetings in the last two years, Marin has beaten Sindhu four times with the Indian gaining an upper hand during the Denmark Super Series last year, but she could not repeat the feat in the Olympics final.
