All India Bakchod have lent their voice to the cause of keeping the internet free. In this video, the group explains in simple terms why keeping the internet free or rather neutral is so critical.
Comedy group All India Bakchod or AIB as they are popularly known have released a video that asks for keeping the internet frre. Their video has been released just two weeks before Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s deadline for the consultation paper ends.
The video using everyday examples decodes the complex debate and also makes an emphatic point on why the grouse of internet companies of loosing on revenue due to OTT (over the top) services is not much of a grouse at all. “Right at this very moment, Indian telecom companies are lobbying the Telecom Regulatory Authority Of India to enact a regulation in a way that will change the way Indians are using the internet forever.” says Tanmay Bhat in the video.
The less than ten-minute video explains why you should care about net neutrality, and highlights the rather bureaucratic way in which the TRAI has asked for opinions on a matter of this import. The video also quotes from a Medianama report on how data usage is making more revenue for Airtel every quarter. It ends with a link to savetheinternet.in, which has a pre-written response to the 20 questions in the TRAI consultation paper which can be mailed to email@example.com.
