A nearly six-year old clip of dramatic footage capturing a building collapse in Mumbai is viral on social media claiming to show a similar tragedy that occurred in Dongri on Tuesday.
The 30-second clip is viral on WhatsApp and Facebook with the caption, "Dongri building fall live captured video."
The clip is flying across social media in the wake a multi storey building that collapsed in south Mumbai's Dongri area on Tuesday morning claiming at least 10 lives so far. About 40 to 50 people were estimated to be trapped under the debris. (Click here)
BOOM received the video on its WhatsApp helpline number (7700906111) inquiring about the authenticity of the clip.
We searched with the same caption on Facebook and found that it was viral on the social media platform.

We searched with the keywords "JJ Building live" on YouTube and found a similar video uploaded in 2017.
Additionally performing reverse image search of screenshots from the viral video threw up a September 21, 2013 NDTV article titled, "Caught on camera: Four-storey building collapses in Thane" which had the same viral video.
According to the report, a four-storeyed residential building named Banoo Apartments housing around 42 families collapsed in Mumbra, Maharashtra on September 21, 2013.
Three bodies were recovered and one victims was pulled out of the rubble reported Mumbai Mirror on September 23, 2013.
The Mumbra police had arrested two accused in the case who are builders named Mohammed Akil Shaik (63), and his son Shakil Shaik (41), reported Mumbai Mirror.
BOOM spoke to Mumbai Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) Manjunath Singe, who confirmed that the video circulating was misleading.
Marathi news outlet named Loksatta Live had uploaded the same video in September 2013, reporting on the incident.
