Video Of Two Groups Of BJP Supporters Fighting Revived With Misleading Claim

The caption misleadingly implies that the BJP candidate had to face the wrath of BJP workers because he did not do anything for them in five years.

By - Anmol Alphonso | 1 May 2019 8:17 AM GMT

Claim

"Rajasthan - Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Sikar was beaten up by BJP workers. BJP workers said, "You did not do anything in the last five years and now your asking for votes?" After that people started thrashing him. Bhakts start clapping."

Fact

During a campaign rally of BJP candidate Bhagirath Choudhary on April 11, 2019, there was a clash between the followers of the former Masuda MP Sushil Kanwar Palara’s husband Bhanwar Singh Palara and Navin Sharma, who joined the party recently according to media reports. News reports at the time did not mention the reason for the altercation. The same video was earlier debunked by BOOM when it had gone viral with another misleading caption that members of the public had thrashed the MP while he sought votes.
