She is also a member of the All India Student Federation, student wing of the Communist Party of India(ML) and she was elected the Vice President of the Student Union at Jawaharlal University. Shehla Rashid Shora’s each identifying factor belongs to a minority community and this seems to have shaped her political outlook as she is at the forefront of a surge of Leftist student movement in the country.
