This river in Thane district provides water to several villages along its course. Water from the river also collects in a well nearby. People who consumed the water complained of vomiting and headache.

Reason behind the contamination is being ascertained by running tests of water samples collected from the river.Villagers have stopped using water from the river or the well and are being forced to buy filtered water.
