Fact

The viral message circulating on social media is fake. The Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) has denied issuing any instructions that commercial banks would have a 5 day week. In a press release dated April 20, 2019, Yogesh Dayal, Chief General Manager of the RBI said, "It has been reported in certain sections of the media that commercial banks would have a 5 day week in terms of RBI instructions. It is clarified that this information is not factually correct. RBI has not issued any such directions."
