Argentina played an almost perfect game against Nigeria in the final fixture of the group stage in the FIFA world cup in Brazil. The contest ended in favour of Argentina scoring three goals against their African opponents who could manage only two goals.

Lionel Messi started scoring in the third minute, which was equalized by a brilliant shoot by Ahmed Musa the next minute. It was Messi again who scored his second goal from an exhilarating free kick to put Argentina in front.

Musa scored again for Nigeria making it 2-2. Argentina came back but this time it was Marcos Rojo who scored the winning goal. Argentina will play against Switzerland and Nigeria will play against France in the round of 16.
