Lights, Camera, 100 Crore!

Salman Khan's latest release Kick hit the Rs 100 crore mark on Tuesday (July 29). Salman celebrated Eid with a peaceful lunch with family and a grand party in the evening. But this is not Sallu's first box office hit that has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. Here are some of his biggest hits that crossed the Rs 100 crore mark, breaking all the records of the past.

 

1. Kick

The film, directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, stars Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandes, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film, which is a remake of the Telugu film with the same name, collected, Rs 26 crore on its release day, according to Koimoi.com, a website that tracks Bollywood collections. The film touched Rs 126 crore on Tuesday (July 29), making it one of the highest grossing films of 2014.

2. Ek Tha Tiger

A film that released in 2012 starred Katrina Kaif opposite Salman Khan. Kartina played a Pakistani agent while Salman played the role of an Indian spy. The film, directed by Kabir Khan, shows how these two agents from enemy countries fall in love with each other. According to Koimoi, the film collected Rs 198 crores in six days, acquiring the top-most position for collections in 2012.

3. Dabangg

The 'Dabangg Duo' is what you can call it. Although the two films released with a gap of two years, the films, produced by his brother Arbaz Khan and sister-in-law Malika Arora Khan, was not only known for its two item numbers (Munni Badnam/Fevicol se) but also for Salman's role and Sonakshi Sinha who made her debut with Dabangg (2010). According to koimoi, Dabbang collected Rs 145 crores in 10 days and Dabangg 2 collected about Rs 158.50 crore in six days.

4. Bodyguard

Bodyguard was also released on the occasion of Eid. According to koimoi, the film also broke oversees record and collected Rs 142 crore in India in eight days. The film was directed by Siddique and produced by Alvira Khan & Atul Agnihotri.

5. Jai Ho

Directed by Salman Khan's brother Sohail Khan, the film was released earlier this year but did not receive much appreciation from the audiences or the critics. The film saw Tabu and new comer Daisy Shah in major roles. With a slow start at the box office, the film, according to Koimoi, only collected Rs 17 crore on its opening day but earned Rs 87.75 crore in the opening week and eventually (in 10 days) collected Rs 111 crore.

Salman Khan has thus broken all records of winning hearts with a series of seven Rs 100 crore hits. His next releases lined up have raised high hopes of going beyond the Rs 100 crore mark starting from 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' opposite Kareena Kapoor to 'Entry main No Entry' with Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan.
