Activists and members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community took out a protest march in Andhra Pradesh.

There are no current official records for the number of LGBT people living in the country. India's Supreme Court in late 2013 reinstated a ban on homosexuality under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code.

LGBTs continue to be victimised under Section 377, under which 587 were arrested in 2014. Criminalisation of same-sex sexual activity by Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code has greatly slowed progress with regards to LGBT diversity and inclusion.
