A screen grab of a Zee News bulletin showing students protesting at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is viral with claims that one among them has been studying in the varsity since 1989.
Circled in black, the student has been falsely identified as 47-year-old Moinuddin from Kerala, who enrolled himself at the university thirty years ago and has since been studying there.
Multiple posts featuring the protesting students' screen grab have been captioned as, "This is Kerala's Moinuddin. He took admission in JNU in 1989. If he had enrolled himself for BA, MA, MPhil and then PhD, ideally he should have left JNU in 2001 and started working."

The man identified as 47-year-old Moinuddin, is as per records, 30-year-old JNU MPhil student Pankaj Kumar Mishra.
BOOM has accessed Mishra's valid ID proof, which states that he was born on March 8, 1989, as opposed to the claim which suggests he enrolled in the varsity in the same year.
Multiple unrelated images have been doing the rounds to claim that students protesting the ongoing fee hike of the university have well past their age of studying in the same.

BOOM could ascertain that the screen grab is originally from a Zee News bulletin, that was aired as part of anchor Sudhir Chaudhary's prime time show, DNA.
Another screen grab featuring a Master's degree student of JNU, where she raises slogans against the media house, has been doing the rounds with a similar claim.
BOOM reached out to Mishra, who said, "The photo is from a video that was recorded by Zee News six days ago. We were shouting slogans against Zee Media, when this was recorded. The same was aired in Sudhir Chaudhary's show."
Mishra clarified to BOOM that he was born in 1989 and is 30 years old. A copy of Mishra's government approved ID card is also with BOOM.
Hailing from Allahabad, Mishra enrolled in the MPhil programme of Social Medicine and Community Health in JNU earlier this year. Mishra was previously working in the public health sector under the NITI Aayog. "I enrolled in the MPhil programme, as a degree was required to perform well in my job," Mishra said.
