Is Kumar Sangakkara The Best Batsman Of His Generation?

Sangakkara has definitely grown in stature over the years, according to Ayaz Memon who feels between him and Mahela Jayawardane, they have held up Sri Lankan cricket.

 

"Sangakkara has made giant strides in the last 3-4 years. Great batsmen like Tendulkar and Lara have not scored 100 at Lords."

 

BoomNews's show #Cricket-O-Mania highlighted some of Sangakkara's achievements: as batsman in 75 tests, he has scored 8,181 runs at an average of 70.52 with 29 hunderds. Overall, he has played 123

tests and scored 11,298 runs at an average of 58.53.

 

Memon feels Sangakkara has been very statesmen-like and evokes a lot of thought. "He is a very fiercely competitive cricketer. And he has brought intellectual richness to cricket."
