Once considered a slum, Kampung Pelangi has become a tourist attraction after a makeover. The village underwent a month long facelift funded by the local government. It has now come to be known as the 'Rainbow Village'.

Local visitors say they used to pass by the village without paying it any attention until it became eye catching.
