Fake News: Images Of Mumbai Metro Bridge Collapse Is From Sept 2012

One person died, 16 injured when a 50-feet long concrete slab collapsed at Mumbai Metro's under construction site in 2012. No such incident in last two days.

Viral WhatsApp Message

 

The images that have gone viral on WhatsApp groups claiming to be of a metro collapse in Chakala, Mumbai are fake. This incident did take place but about 5 years back on September 4, 2012, when a 50-feet long concrete slab collapsed at the Metro railway's under-construction airport station around 4.35pm on Tuesday. The accident killed one labourer and injuring 16 others, two of them critically.

 

No such fresh incident has been reported by Mumbai police or any of the news channels. These images can be linked to several stories on searching Google. Here are a few links for your reference.
