BOOM contacted Ghaziabad police who confirmed that there has been no such child kindapping incident as is being mentioned in the viral messages.

BOOM got in touch with Circle Officer (CO) of Indirapuram Anshu Jain, who dismissed the viral message as fake and said that there is no truth to the incident.

Additionally, on being asked if there are any prominent schools near the mentioned area, she said that Indirapuram Public School was located nearby but no incident of children or a child from the said school had been reported.

"The police will take action against people spreading such misleading message," added CO Jain.

According to the Indian Express, on August 27, an elderly woman walking with her one-year-old grandson in Ghaziabad was attacked by a group of people over suspicion that she was a child kidnapper.

Ghaziabad Police had tweeted yesterday appealing to people not to believe any rumours related to child kidnapping and that there was no child kidnapping gang roaming in the area.
