A video of a content creator appealing for support after an alleged deepfake of her went viral in 2025 has surfaced with claims misidentifying her as the minor who was molested in Jamui, Bihar, last week.
BOOM found that the person in the video is a content creator named Jannat, who shared the video on November 15, 2025. Further, Jamui SDPO Deepti Monali confirmed to BOOM that the woman in the video has been misidentified.
The Jamui sexual assault case has so far led to eight arrests, with two FIRs registered in connection with the incident. Nandan Yadav, Hareram Yadav, Mithilesh Kumar and two minors were arrested in connection with the molestation case. Meanwhile, Ramashish Chaudhary, Kundan Kumar and Faiyaz Ahmed were arrested for allegedly circulating the viral video.
The Claim
An X user shared the video identifying the person as the Jamui victim and wrote, "This is being said to be the Jamui victim... she is asking people to share and support her."

What We Found: Video Is From November 2025
1. Video Predates Bihar Molestation Incident: BOOM found the original video on an Instagram account named sweet_zannat_12374, where it was posted on November 15, 2025. This establishes that the video predates the sexual assault incident in Jamui, which took place on September 19.
In the original video, the vlogger, identified as Jannat, speaks about an objectionable video allegedly created using AI. She accuses two boys of creating the video and appeals to people for support. The creator also demanded punishment for the miscreants in her video.
2. Old Controversy Over Objectionable Video: Jannat had previously shared several posts on her Instagram account about an objectionable video allegedly created using AI and subsequently circulated online.
In these posts, she accused boys from her village of creating and sharing the video. In one of the videos, the accused boys can be seen apologising to Jannat for creating the video. According to information available on her Instagram account, Jannat lives in Meghalaya and regularly posts daily-life vlogs.
Jannat had also been incorrectly identified in connection with another viral video earlier. Reports published by NDTV, The Economic Times and Punjab Kesari in December 2025 said Jannat had faced online harassment after a purported 19-minute private video of a couple went viral, with the woman in the video wrongly identified as Jannat. She later clarified through an Instagram post that she was not the woman seen in the viral video.
3. Jamui Police Refutes Claim: For further verification, we reached out to Jamui Police. Speaking to BOOM, Jamui SDPO Deepti Monali dismissed the claim as false. The police officer added that the cyber police had taken cognisance of the video and that action would be taken based on it.
BOOM also reached out to content creator Jannat for a response. The story will be updated if she responds.
