What We Found: Video does not show Zubeen Garg
1. Old Video: BOOM broke the video into several keyframes and ran reverse image searches which led us to the same video uploaded on Instagram on June 13, 2025. This predates the singer's death. The caption credited another Instagram user @stop.the.sun and stated, the video shows a free diver blacking out and losing consciousness as he ascends towards surface after a deep sea dive.
2. Professional Free-Diver's Video: Taking a cue, we found the same video under the username @stop.the.sun uploaded on May 14, 2025. Marat described in caption how he lost consciousness while ascending after a deep dive of 78 metres.
Marat who describes himself as an "Action taker" in his Instagram bio, has uploaded several videos of him free diving underwater on his page.
