After winning 20 electoral votes in Pennsylvania, Donald Trump closed off any path for Democratic rival Hillary Clinton to become the first female president.
Donald Trump, in his acceptance speech magnanimously said,"I've just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us. It’s about us. On our victory, and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard-fought campaign."
The Washington Post, AlJazeera called Pennsylvania, Wisconsin among others for Donald Trump and thus declared him the winner of the US Presidential elections.
It was an improbable win, but in what could only be called as the revenge of the White voter, Donald Trump's out of the box statements/policies convinced them to vote for the Republican candidate.
The winning candidate needs 270 electoral votes to become the next President of the world's most powerful democracy, the United States of America and Donald Trump's sweeping of the entire rust belt of America -- Texas, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio, Indian, Tennessee, and converting traditionally democratic party states to Republican have got him 288 votes. It is not a large margin but it is enough.
Donald Trump acknowledged these voters coming out to vote for him and told them he would not forget them. "I've gotten to know our country so well. Tremendous potential. It is going to be a beautiful thing. Every single American will have the opportunity to realize his or her fullest potential. The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer," said Trump.
CNN reports that out of the 6 key states, Trump's win of Ohio, Florida combined with New Hampshire and North Carolina were the death blow. Clinton won the large states of Virginia and Colarado but lost the truly battleground states.
Record high voter turnout of Hispanics and women voters in favour of Clinton seemed to not have mattered as Trump kept a clear lead throughout the counting hours. But now that he is President, Donald Trump's team realises that the campaign has alienated large parts of the electorate and in turn many congressmen. His speech was all about bringing together, those who he had trashed months and even days earlier. "It is a movement comprised of Americans from all races, religions, backgrounds and beliefs, who want and expect our government to serve the people, and serve the people it will. Working together we will begin the urgent task of rebuilding our nation and renewing the American dream."

For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I'm reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and unify our great country."
Even as Trump thanked members of his family and his team by naming them, calling them on stage, supporters of the Democratic Party shocked with the results will probably blame one man for the change in momentum -- Director of U.S.' Federal Bureau Of Investigation -- James Comey.
