Govindraj Ethiraj, Founder-Editor of BOOM spoke to Arvind Thakur, CEO & Joint Managing Director of NIIT Technologies, on the sidelines of NASSCOM India Leadership Forum 2016 to talk about disruption in information technology.

Arvind Thakur says businesses are continuously impacted by many factors but the most disruptive force has been the pace of technology itself. He highlights the innovations in digital technology which have made space, time and distance irrelevant as the most disruptive. He gives the example of using social media as a measure of a product’s popularity or lack of it to highlight his point.

The CEO of NIIT Technologies emphasizes that technology has allowed services to be personalized, allowed employers and employees to connect over great distances thus fundamentally changing the way business is conducted. He says that the disruption seen in 2015 is perhaps one of the biggest seen after the industrial revolution in the scale of impact across the globe.
