Bihar Police’s Facebook Account Posts Details Of Rape Victim

By - A Staff Writer | 29 Jun 2016 1:04 PM GMT

A girl was raped on June 15 in Motihari, Bihar and her case was highlighted by a journalist in a letter to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Bihar police responded to the journalist’s open letter but included the victim's name, and address among other details, in a lengthy facebook post.

The Bihar government has said the matter will be investigated and all those responsible will be punished.

Meanwhile, the political parties are up in arms against the police for the lapse. The BJP attacked the police accusing them of jeopardising the probe into the case. JDU, too, has demanded action against those who caused the blunder.
