Surya Namaskar

Surya Namaskar (Salutation to Sun God) is the surest exercise for a healthy body and a peaceful mind. Surya Namaskar is best done early morning on an empty stomach. This yoga is all about inhaling and exhaling so that the body gets maximum amount of oxygen. There are seven variations to Bhastrika. Bhastrika pranayama helps to throw out toxins and cures illnesses of the respiratory track. It also boosts the supply of oxygen, purifies blood and helps increases warmth and prevents common cold.

Purvottanasana

Purvottanasana (Upward Plank Pose) stretches the chest, shoulders and biceps, and is a good exercise to strengthen the wrists, arms and hamstrings. The best for weight loss, this pose can be therapeutic for fatigue and depression.

Walking on the wall

If the name is scaring you away, let us assure you that this exercise is not as difficult as it sounds. All you need is little patience and some practice. Perform this exercise for four times, and hold the posture for ten seconds each time.

Utthita Trikonasana

In Sanskrit, “utthita” means extended, “trikona” means three angle or triangle, and “asana” means pose. This exercise is beneficial to strengthen the legs, feet and ankles. It also opens the chest and shoulders and aids in strengthening the back, neck and abdomen. Utthita Trikonasana is therapeutic for people suffering from stress, anxiety, infertility, flat feet, neck pain, osteoporosis, sciatica and symptoms of menopause.
