Airtel Ends Device-Switching Woes With Smart SIM

Bharti Airtel recently launched Smart SIM, a common SIM for smartphones and tablets to ease the process of switching between different devices.

New-generation smartphones and tablets use one of three variants of SIM cards – micro, nano or mini. While feature phones still use a mini SIM, the largest one in size, high-end smartphones use the nano, which is the smallest.

Consumers who switch between devices are generally forced to buy a new SIM or use a crude alternate

called a SIM cutter. SIM jackets or adapters available in the market are inconsistent and alter the

thickness of the SIM.

With the Smart SIM, Airtel has launched an effective solution to all these hassles. The Smart SIM is a nano card that comes with two perfectly-sized micro and mini jackets. It is available for Rs 300 and comes pre-bundled with talk time and 3G data plan.
