Zomato Under Fire

Food delivery app Zomato has come under fire, once again. This time, the backlash came after a customer-care agent remarked to a client from Tamil Nadu that he should know Hindi because it is India's national language.
The anguished customer took to Twitter to share his experience. He also posted the screenshots of his chat with the customer care agent who told him that his language was a hurdle in getting hi issue resolved.
While Zomato issued an apology on Twitter, its CEO Deepinder Goyal tweeted calling for a "higher level of tolerance and chill" in the country.

Zomato's Tussle With Controversies
This isn't the first time that Zomato has found itself embroiled in controversy. The food delivery app was slammed after its ad campaign with Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif.
Zomato was called out early last month after its ad promoting ‘fast delivery and special customer service’ ethos. Viewers said the company was 'romanticising' the struggles of the delivery persons while not much was being done about their working conditions.
On Monday, Twitterati once again discussed the work culture at Zomato and the pressure on the workers after a Twitter user posted how a delivery executive delivered his order despite losing his wallet. He even apologised for the 'short delay', according to the customer.
