Rohit Sharma's Batting Woes To Missing An All Rounder, Why Mumbai Indians Are Struggling

Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians have had a dismal start to the 2022 IPL season having lost all seven of their matches so far earning them an unwanted record.

Mumbai Indians' dismal run has coincided with captain Rohit Sharma's poor form with the bat. Sharma has scored more than 30 runs in just one match this season.

After hitting back-to-back 50s in the opening two matches, record-signing Ishan Kishan has also struggled with the bat like fellow opener Rohit Sharma increasing the pressure on the MI middle order.

Age finally seems to have caught up with the explosive Kieron Pollard. The West Indian forged his legend at MI by pulling off incredible run chases but has failed to ignite so far this season.

MI have failed to find a replacement for pacer Trent Boult who forged a formidable new-ball partnership with Jasprit Bumrah. With none of the other bowlers hitting their marks, the pressure has increased on Bumrah.

MI's decision to not retain Hardik Pandya has returned to haunt them with the all-rounder leading Gujarat Titans to the top of the table with his exploits with the bat. Not only did they let Pandya go, but they also failed to sign a replacement for him.
